Service-Learning at Goodman is a project-based teaching-learning strategy that connects classroom theory to challenges experienced in the “real world”.

Partnership Opportunity - Free Help with a variety of Marketing needs
Teams of students will be given the option to participate in a service-learning placement with an area non-profit or small for-profits businesses for the purpose developing a marketing or communications plan, a marketing strategy or just an “out of the box” promotional idea.

Example: An organization may have a major fundraising event and may want to increase attendance.

Example: There may be a new program/product/service in development or launch stage that needs to be marketed/promoted.

Example: An organization/business may have a product (new or existing) that they feel should be selling better and wants to develop its market.

What You Get 
We have various different marketing classes requiring community partners this winter. There are different project requirements for each. Project deliverables will range from promotional ideas, to media materials, website content, pricing strategies, branding strategies, product feature promotion/development… lots of different ways our students can help.

Your Commitment
Projects are tied to a student’s overall course mark. Commitment to completion of the project (January to early April) is required. Once you’ve submitted your project idea on-line, it will be connected to the best fit course and such details as dates and times for meetings with your team will be confirmed.

Generally, the partnerships require 3 meetings with your team:

·Startup/Intro meeting

·A mid-point check-in meeting 

·A campus visit for the final presentation and to receive your report.
