The Consulate General of Canada in Detroit (DTROT) has a large focus on the automotive industry. We are located in the heart of the Great Lakes Auto Manufacturing Region. Metro Detroit is home to almost 400 automotive R&D centers and together, Ontario and Michigan account for 26% of North American vehicle production.
From January 14 to 17, DTROT and the Government of Ontario are inviting Canadian companies/organizations with a strong automotive R&D/innovation focus to be part of the 2019 Canada Pavilion @ Automobili-D. It is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to take part in, as it is one of the largest Automotive events in North America. Please refer to the document attached for more details.
Canada’s participation in AutoMobili-D aims to promote Canada as an innovative automotive R&D powerhouse to OEMs and Tier one suppliers with a presence in the metro Detroit area. The event will provide a venue for Canadian companies to promote their technologies/services, have a display area, and meet & network with metro Detroit company representatives interested in learning about Canadian technologies and capabilities. While many factors can impact the level of success of the event, a large Canadian participation and the right individuals sent to represent your respective organizations will contribute towards making this event fruitful for all.
Your participation at AutoMobili-D will be supported by Anne Cascadden, Trade Commissioner for the Automotive Sector in Detroit. Rich of many years of experience, several high-level contacts and a vast knowledge of the global automotive sector, Anne has assisted hundreds of Canadian companies & organizations with securing business and partnership opportunities in this region.
January 14 to 17, 2019
COBO Center, Detroit, MI.
Approximately $1,000 USD per company/organization (final amount will to be determined once the number of participants is confirmed). Please keep in mind that it is a very practical and economical option to fly or take the train to Windsor, ON, and cab/drive across the border. Note that this time of the year is very busy in Detroit and hotel reservations should be made early.
