Our History
Formed in 2007 by a group of Niagara industrialists committed to the idea of preserving manufacturing as a key sector, the NIA is a voice and catalyst that strives to bring manufacturing, specialty trades, and service industries together across the Region’s twelve municipalities.
With a recent resurgence in the manufacturing sector and spotlight on emerging and traditional markets such as EV, energy, marine, and agri-production, the NIA’s mandate to represent Niagara’s broad industrial base will require support, promotion, and representation. Preparing the next generation of manufacturing workforce, lobbying for favourable economic incentives, and presenting business transition strategies remain key priorities for the NIA in continuing our rich and resilient history in Niagara.
