Committees

The NIA Board of Directors have created the following committees responsible for the various functions of the NIA.

Executive Committee

Consisting of Chair, Vice Chair, and Treasurer, this committee is responsible for planning and executing the general management, financial, and administrative functions of the NIA.

Executive Director

Reports to the Executive Committee and is responsible for operational leadership, financial management, member engagement, and strategic plan execution.

Industrial Development

Focused on supporting the needs of the industrial business community in Niagara.  This committee identifies business opportunities, develops business strategies, and executes on value-add activities for NIA’s industrial members.  

Membership Development

Focused on ensuring that the spirit of community, engagement, and programming remains strong within our membership and This committee focuses on providing the NIA community with value-add networking and social events to foster collaboration and synergies.

Advocacy

Focused on the promotion, protection, and advocacy of industry in Niagara.  This committee is responsible for managing communication and working relationships with all levels of government, advocating on behalf of the Niagara manufacturing sector, and liaising with government bodies to ensure awareness of sector challenges and needs. 

Workforce Development

Focused on supporting the development of industrial labour market needs in the Region, including the development of youth, skilled trades, and leadership training. This committee is responsible for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with education and training-related stakeholders to ensure that programming is aligned with the needs of Niagara’s manufacturing sector. 

Marketing & Communications

Working in collaboration with the other committees, responsible for the communications and marketing initiatives for the NIA.
