Ksenia Bushmeneva, TD Economics

Ksenia has been with TD Economics department 10 years ago, following her graduate studies in economics at Western University. Throughout her career, she has held various roles focused on both the U.S. and Canadian economies. In her current position, Ksenia produces forecasts of the U.S. commercial banks’ lending and deposit activity. She frequently writes and speaks on economic and credit trends to diverse audiences, and her analyses are often cited in the media. 

 Anne Waldes, Trade Link International Ltd.

Anne is CEO of Trade Link International Ltd and she has been active in supply chain and global logistics for the past 40 years with a particular focus on the overseas markets.

After 15 years with a steam ship line Anne founded Trade Link International Ltd in 1993 to provide flexible and innovative logistics solutions for our clients. We bring decades of experience, industry knowledge and tools to support your supply chain at rest or in motion. We partner with our clients to develop an integrated, end to end, supply chain strategy by providing customized solutions particular to your business needs.

Anne is currently Board Chair for HOPA (Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority) ,and a Director on the National Board of Directors for CIFFA (Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association ), Director and past President of the Hong Kong Canadian Business Association and most recently graduated with a C.Dir. designation from DeGroote School of Business at McMaster .

 Hussam MalekMNP

Hussam, P.Eng, PMP, M.Eng, MBA, is a Partner with MNP in Mississauga and leads the firm’s Operations, Performance Improvement team within Consulting. Hussam provides customized practical solutions to his clients, helping them implement management systems that position their businesses for transformation, growth and profitability. Hussam helps organizations improve their top and bottom lines, working with clients to establish a management system that allows operations to run more efficiently, effectively and independently.

Hussam has extensive experience in manufacturing, and in operational transformation, performance improvement, business optimization, automation and business management systems. His cross-industry expertise includes food, consumer goods, automotive, medical technology, robotics and automation.

Charles Conteh, Niagara Community Observatory

Charles is a professor of public policy and management in the Department of Political Science at Brock University, Ontario. He also serves as Director of Brock University’s Niagara Community Observatory (NCO) a research institute that partners with the Niagara community and similar regions to foster, produce and disseminate research on current and emerging issues. 

He has published six books and over 40 book chapters and peer-reviewed articles. His research focuses on innovation policy. He is currently working on a project that investigates how midsized regions across Canada are reinventing their economies and navigating breakneck global changes in technologies and markets.
