Niagara Industrial Association Pushes Back Against Regional Development Charges for the Industrial Sector

On Thursday, August 26th, 2022, Niagara Regional Council officially passed motion on the development charges by-law which gave a break to Niagara’s industry after several rounds of delegations from the Niagara Industrial Association’s members of the Board and company firms.

The Niagara Industrial Association’s Chair, Jordan Sherlock, President of North America Traffic in Port Colborne, had this to say about the competitiveness of the industry in Niagara,  “All of the progress that industry … has made over the past decade or so to establish itself as a critical and resilient sector for Niagara risks a large setback if we don’t maintain the status quo with the industrial development charge program.”
